The weather is beautiful in Central Florida. There is nothing more relaxing than a day on the lake, and a favorite for both tourists and locals is East Lake Tohopekaliga, or East Lake Toho for short. It is the second largest lake in Osceola County, covering almost 12,000 acres with a diameter of five miles. The water is clear with great visibility of up to 9 feet. East Lake Toho is a great location for many different types of outdoor activities both on the water and around its shore.
Along the shore, there are two parks: Chrisholm Park just south of Narcoossee and the Lake Front in St Cloud. The Runnymede Nature Preserve sits on the east shore. Both Chrisholm and Lake Front offer sandy beaches, pavilions, hiking, bike trails, playground areas and boat ramps.
Once on the lake, you can enjoy fishing for various types of bass, catfish, sunfish and others. Along the shores one can view many different types of native Florida fauna. Watch for alligators sunning themselves or deer along the shores.
