This year there are a number of new fun events and holiday traditions and hundreds of ways to celebrate the holiday season in Orlando. Regardless of what your personal preferences and likings are, you are sure to find something interesting for you and your family to be engaged in during the holiday season.
Some events have admission charges, while most are free or very low-cost family-friendly shows and events in and around the St. Cloud /Orlando area right through November and December. Here is a list of some of the noteworthy things to do:
1 – City parades & tree lighting ceremonies
There is a very wide collection of events happenings in the Orlando area this year. Most of the cities have both tree lighting and city parade ceremonies and these are a sight to see.
2 – See a holiday play
Ranging from high school performances to Broadway shows, there are a number of holiday plays that you and your family can watch. But most of these plays also tend to sell out pretty quickly and it’s best to get your tickets in advance.
3 – Holiday music shows in Orlando
This is one of the best ways of getting into the holiday spirit. Across Orlando, there are a number of locations where you can find holiday music performances. While some of these shows will have admission charges, most of them are free concerts and you don’t have to worry about booking tickets in advance either.
4 – Decorated holiday homes
Each year, all the old, historic homes in Orlando are on display right through the holiday season. Except for Leu’s Holiday House all the other decorated homes are included in a tour for which you are required to pay an admission fee. There are some specific days on which admission to Leus Gardens if free and you can check the schedules for those visits.
5 – Other holiday events for the family
In addition to all the events mentioned above, most local museums, shopping areas, and hotels conduct various events that are perfect for the family. Malls and libraries are also great places to take your children to this year to visit Santa.
Plan ahead to beat the rush
In short, there are myriad events and shows to keep your family entertained and engaged this holiday season. But since many other families would also be doing the same, it’s important to plan ahead and ensure you have bookings and reservations for events that need them. This will help you avoid the last minute rush and the disappointment of not getting tickets for the shows you want to attend.
